Warwick Custom Shop Thumb Bass 5-String | 2011 | Made in Germany

A seriously nice custom-order Warwick Thumb 5, built by the Warwick Custom Shop in Germany in 2011.

This one features a beautiful Bubinga Pommele body, Wenge neck, Natural Oil finish and black hardware — a classic combination that perfectly suits the Thumb’s distinctive character.

The Thumb is one of Warwick’s most iconic designs, known for its compact body, huge sustain and unmistakable tight, aggressive growl. The combination of dense Bubinga Pommele and Wenge gives this bass plenty of punch and definition through the mids, with a powerful and articulate low B.

The Natural Oil finish really lets the figuring of the Bubinga Pommele stand out, while the black hardware keeps everything looking suitably understated.

Being a Custom Shop instrument and custom order, this is a particularly nice example of German Warwick craftsmanship from this period.
