Hi, I have a Sterling by Music Man Ray35HH 5-string bass that I’d like to have repaired.
The issues are:
The G-string tuning machine (tuning peg) needs to be replaced. There is an issue with the electronics. When I switch to certain positions on the** pickup selector**, there is no sound at all. One of selector positions still work normally.I’d appreciate it if you could diagnose the electronics first before replacing any parts, as I’m hoping it may just be a wiring or selector switch issue rather than a faulty pickup.
While it’s being repaired, I’d also like to have:
A full restring (please let me know if I need to supply the strings or if you can provide them). A full clean and setup to get it back into the best playing condition.Could you please let me know:
An estimated cost for the diagnosis and repair. Whether you can source and replace the G-string tuning machine. The cost for the restring, clean, and setup. Your current turnaround time.Thank you!
Good afternoon
I have recently inherited a double bass which has been unused for some time. The inside seems to be affected by damp and has what appears to be a blue mould growing inside.
How can I clean and disinfect the instrument? Is this something you can help with? If so, what sort of cost would be involved?
I realise it is hard to accurately quote without seeing the instrument but was hoping to get a broad figure.
Thanks for your help
Ian Foletta
PS The bass still plays well with a great sound and so probably worth maintaining.
