Fender Jazz Bass 1962, loads of Mojo in this classic bass.
This bass has been a solid workhorse for almost 60 years, and is a genuine roadworn '62. We are selling this on behalf of Joe Creighton, Joe has used this bass on countless live performances and tours over the years, and it has appeared on 100's of albums/sessions.
The bass has seen some modifications over the years, most of them being done over 20 + years ago. It has been refinished from its original Lake Placid Blue to white with matching headstock. The machine heads were replaced with (now) vintage reverse style machine heads. The pots have been replaced, 2 of them look like they are from the 1970's and one from the 1980's (see pic). It was refretted some time ago, but the second set of frets are beautifully worn in.
Its serial number is 76091. Comes from the same year as Jaco's Bass of Doom, and has the most amazing vintage Jazz bass tone you could imagine. It plays like a dream, truss rod and all hardware is in great shape for its age.
Come play it and check it out by appointment only, or please contact us for more information or pictures. A rare piece of Fender and Australian Bass history.
